What does a front differential reinforcement plate do?

A front differential reinforcement plate is an additional protective plate mounted to the frame and under the front differential. It:

• Distributes impacts over a wider area, reducing stress on the differential mounting points.

• Reduces the risk of the differential twisting or cracking under heavy load.

• Supports the differential when the drive shafts pull from different angles in rough terrain.

On the Sportsman/Scrambler 1000 XP S models, the front differential mounting structure is known to be weaker and can fail under heavy use. This is why the reinforcement plate is one of the most common and useful upgrades for these machines.
